    Xcaret About Us

    Nestled amidst the luxuriant rainforests of the Mexican Caribbean and upon the shores of a glittering turquoise sea, lies a place like no other in the world: Xcaret, meaning "small inlet" in Maya, a spectacular eco park in the heart of the Riviera Maya. Discover a new type of endless recreation through its wide range of attractions. The veneration and preservation of the environment, as much as the legacies and cultures of the Maya peoples and Mexico in general, also are of paramount importance to Xcaret. The Eco Park is equally concerned with sensitizing visitors to the imperative need to save the planet, which it does through various interactive activities.

    Whether relaxing or exploring, at Xcaret one can enjoy all the wonders such a privileged region provides. The Eco Park has a Museum with scale models of the ancient Maya cities; a Butterfly Pavilion; a Wild Bird Breeding Aviary; an archaeological zone; a Mayan village; two underground rivers; a Botanical Garden housing an Orchid, a Mushroom Farm and an Apiary; the Rincon Mexicano, with an hacienda, charreria (traditional horsemanship) shows and a fair;

    a Coral Reef Aquarium; two dolphin areas; a lagoon with manatees; pumas and jaguars on their own lush islands; small mammals representative of the local fauna; five restaurants offering Mexican and Caribbean specialties, along with live music; rest areas; aquatic activities; a rotating scenic tower; and, finally, Xcaret Spectacular Night in the Grand Tlachco. Xcaret Park promises a day full of fun and unforgettable experiences.

    Upon arrival at the Park, let the recreated Arch of Labna be your majestic gateway to nature’s paradise. Xcaret, a natural theme park just 45 minutes from Cancun Mexico, is spread over 200 acres of which only one-third has been fitted out. It is a living example of the successful, complete integration of modern humanity with nature. The combination of landscape architecture and modern technology is subtly merged into the natural surroundings, offering all the necessary facilities to accommodate the 700,000 people who visit annually while simultaneously protecting the delicate ecosystems.

    The Museum, a moderate construction that blends harmoniously with its surroundings, awaits visitors with scale models of the most important Maya cities, helping to illustrate the richness of the region’s archaeological zones and the grandeur of pre-Hispanic civilizations.  The miracle of procreation is a common occurrence at Xcaret, and begins with the 150 quails born each day in the incubators at the Museum’s entrance. There is also a service area selling handicrafts, souvenirs and books, a photo center with one-hour service, an information booth, a cafeteria and spacious bathrooms with dressing rooms and lockers.
