Posadas are popular Mexican festivities that take place before Christmas. They are a legacy of the friars who arrived in the 16th century, and with the passing of time became a tradition.

Posadas recreate the journey of Mary and Joseph searching for a place for the birth of Child Jesus. Participants are divided into two groups: those who ask for lodging and those who answer the plea. Lodging requests are made with traditional songs, the most important part of the event. These festivities end with colorful piñatas full of surprises.
