As night falls, Xcaret gets ready to host one of the most surprising shows in Cancun and Riviera Maya, featuring more than 300 artists on stage. Having the impressive scenario of the Gran Tlachco as home, you will hop on a journey through the rich history and culture of Mexico.

Attend the artists’ presentation that will take you by more than 500 years of history at the most famous Xcaret show.

Approach the culture of our country since the pre-Columbian era, the Conquest of Mexico times, the Colonial Era, the first years of Mexico as an independent country, the Revolution years at the beginning of the 20th Century, until reaching our days. Mexico is a fascinating blending of traditions of culture that have endured the pass of the centuries.

Historical Reenactments

The journey begins more than 500 years ago with a Maya ritual, following the Owl’s Dance, which recreates the moment where the lords of the underworld, known as Xibalbá, invite the divine twins, Huainpú and Ixbalanque, to have a ballgame with them.

The Maya Ballgame is one of the most relevant scenes at the Xcaret night show, as part of the life and death ritual. Also, there will be a representation of the Ball of Fire Game, played in the Purepecha region, nowadays the Mexican state of Michoacán, about 3,000 years ago.

Follow the scenes of Cortés arrival, the march on Tenochtitlan, and how he was confused as the Quetzalcoatl deity, besides the battle and the evangelization process that results in the Encounter of Two Worlds with a mestizo country full of traditions. Enjoy a legendary night show in Cancun and Riviera Maya.

Art Homage

Xcaret México Espectacular is the most complete entertainment show in Cancun and Riviera Maya. You will get the chance to watch some of the most beloved traditions in Mexico since each state has an identity and costumes. Everything contributes to forming a cultural richness that makes us all proud.

From the Ritual Ceremony of the Voladores de Papantla, which is enlisted as a World Heritage by UNESCO, to other intangible heritage from the Mexican State of Michoacán to the world: Pirekua, which is a sweet sing by the Purepecha women.

Also, guests can enjoy several representations such as Los Tamborileros (Drummers) from Tabasco, the Pineapple Dance from Oaxaca, a musical medley from the Mexican Revolution Era, the traditional Dance of the Old Men from Michoacan, the Bamba of Veracruz, and one of the most renowned Mexican portraits around the world, the Mariachi. For a perfect ending, Xcaret Singers will perform Mexico en la Piel song.

To close with a bang, the Cantores de Xcaret perform México en la Piel.
