Within Xel-Há, there are remains of an ancient civilization that can be explored. The inlet was a relevant Pre-Hispanic port in the first centuries of our era, emerging and consolidating its relevance between the 1st and 6th centuries AD. It reached its stage of splendor around the 12th century, although it continued to function as a commercial port until the arrival of the first Spanish expeditions in the 16th century.

This wall had the function of protecting the port, and even it was claimed by Mother Nature over time, today we are proud of having a historical past in Xel-Há, besides being a natural wonder in the Riviera Maya.
